Within this broad definition, the work includes supporting the development of the infrastructure for sport and physical activity to enable participation to be easily accessible by all sections of the local community.
All these key areas make up 'The Sporting Infrastructure' that will enable people to enjoy the sport or activity of their choice. This work is at the very heart of CSP's in bringing agencies together, to coordinate, plan for, share and make better use of available resources to increase opportunities to take part.
We are led by a strategic board supported by a central team of professional staff , the Cumbria Sport Team, who provide leadership, coordination and structures which allows people and organisations to work more effectively at a sub-regional level.
Sport and Physical Activity has much more to offer within communities and can make an effective contribution to improving health, reducing anti social behaviour, bringing communities together, leading happier lives and helping Local Authorities to achieve priorities and outcomes set within local community plans.
To ensure that 'Everyone in Cumbria has the opportunities to enjoy taking part in some form of sport or physical activity as an integral part of everyday life'.
Is to create the right environment that enables our vision to be achieved.
